Our research and development activities focus on mechatronics, IoT electronics, and intelligent software. Thanks to the experience of our team coming from various industrial sectors and motorsports, we offer innovative solutions: material quality and structural integrity, supported by testing and simulations, complete our approach.
i-Pergola is an active partner within the startup ecosystem in Italy and Europe, driving open innovation activities across all areas through POCs (Proof of Concepts) of innovative technologies from various sectors.
The results of these collaborations will lead to a continuous evolution of i-Pergola's agrivoltaic solutions, from hardware to software, also thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence algorithms that will further enhance performance levels, both in terms of energy and agriculture.
i-Pergola is a technical partner in numerous research projects aimed at redefining best field practices through the management/control of temperature, humidity, and solar radiation using advanced agrivoltaic systems, i-Pergola Agri PV.
Sustainable Agrivoltaic Systems for the Decarbonization of the Agri-food Supply Chains in Emilia Romagna
Agrivoltaics and Sensing Technology for Innovation and Sustainability in the Wine Supply Chain
Agrivoltaics and Sensing Technology for Innovation and Sustainability in the Citrus Supply Chain
Agrivoltaics, which involves integrating electricity generation from photovoltaic panels with agricultural crops on the same land, is one of the key technologies promoted by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to support the energy transition. As a relatively new technology, there is still limited information on the actual opportunities and challenges that agrivoltaics presents for the agricultural sector and, more broadly, for the community.
As part of the "Agrivolt-ER" project (36-month duration), the key aspects of the integration and management of agrivoltaics will be addressed as a foundation for the sustainable development of the area.
The strategic goal of the ENER-VITIS project (24-month duration) is to enhance the competitiveness of the Emilia-Romagna wine supply chain, making it a model for sustainable innovation.
The specific goal of the project is to develop a new production system applied to the wine supply chain through an integrated collaboration with regional companies, aimed at ensuring the fulfillment of the reference descriptors of the "safe, clean, and accessible energy" thematic area. This will be achieved, particularly, in terms of energy efficiency from solar sources and adaptation to climate change, through the validation of an agrivoltaic system installed in vineyards and a new drainage system for grape pressing.
The strategic goal of the project (36-month duration) is to enhance the competitiveness of the Mediterranean citrus supply chain, making it a model for sustainable innovation.
The specific goal of the project is to develop a new production system applied to the citrus supply chain hrough integrated collaboration among Mediterranean countries, aimed at ensuring the fulfillment of the reference descriptors of the "safe, clean, and accessible energy" thematic area, particularly in terms of solar energy efficiency and adaptation to climate change. This will be achieved through the validation of an agrivoltaic system installed in an experimental citrus orchard within the CIHEAM of Bari.
